Terms of Use
Last updated: 12 June 2026
These terms govern your use of the Slip app and website. By using Slip, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the app.
1. What Slip is
Slip lets you create encrypted notes tied to a physical place that unlock for people you trust when they arrive there. You're responsible for the content you create and who you share it with.
2. Your account
You may sign in using a third-party provider (such as Apple or Google). Keep your account secure. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age in your region) to use Slip.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to use Slip to:
- harass, threaten, stalk, or harm anyone, or send content to someone who hasn't agreed to receive it;
- share unlawful, abusive, or infringing content, or content that sexualizes or endangers minors;
- impersonate others or misrepresent your identity;
- attempt to break, probe, or overload the service, or circumvent its security and rate limits.
We support in-app reporting and blocking. We may remove reported content metadata, suspend accounts, or limit access to keep people safe.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of the notes and attachments you create. Because your content is end-to-end encrypted, we can't access it and don't claim any rights to read or use it. You grant the people you send a Slip to the ability to open it under the conditions you set.
5. Location features
Slip relies on device location to detect arrival. Location accuracy depends on your device, settings, and surroundings; we can't guarantee a Slip will unlock at an exact moment or spot. Don't rely on Slip for emergencies or anything safety-critical.
6. Availability
The service is provided "as is" and "as available." We may change, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We aren't liable for content delivered late, not delivered, or lost due to factors outside our control (including device, network, or third-party platform issues).
7. Third-party services
Slip uses Apple, Google, and Cloudflare infrastructure. Your use of those services may also be subject to their terms.
8. Disclaimers & liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Slip disclaims all warranties and is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
9. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms; we'll revise the date above and, for material changes, notify you in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
